All new for FA24, the MXR Sport from Mizuno. A silhouette inspired by the brand’s deep-rooted love for Y2K retro-running execution, and ultimately an extension of the beloved Wave Rider 10.

The MXR Sport draws inspiration from the Maximizer line. Straight from the early noughties’ catalogues, it captures that era’s retro-tech aesthetic to perfection. Mizuno’s commitment to excellence and craftsmanship is central to the MXR Sport, where every aspect of the sneaker reflects the brand’s ongoing pursuit of a balance between tradition and innovation. The MXR Sport features a palette of tonal colours, with the only contrast being the Runbird logo. By opting for this design approach, the attention is directed towards the refined combinations of materials, details, and finishes of the shoes.

In combining portions of ‘Air mesh’ and synthetic silver leather overlays with printed details across the Runbird logo and debossed quarter panels, Mizuno Sportstyle has extended their Maximiser line with notes of the ever-present Wave Rider 10 model.

The MXR Sport showcases highly advanced technical tooling, such as the use of multiple rubber components for colour blocking. The brand’s meticulous attention to detail is showcased in the intricate overlay pattern as well as in the print and debossed elements. This sneaker is rich of details such as: eyestay prints, debossed quarters, customs tapes, and the Runbird logo, which has been debossed and printed.
